Belize authorizes Dromon

IMMARBE has authorized DBS as a Recognized Organization (RO) to perform statutory certification and survey services on behalf of the Administration. 

An agreement has been signed between IMMARBE and DBS on August 27, 2013 at IMMARBE Head Office in Belize City.

DBS has been granted full authorization to approve relevant manuals, perform plan review, and carry out surveys as well as issuance of statutory certificates on behalf of the flag Administration.

The Authorization covers:

  • Statutory Certificates applicable to vessels covered by the SOLAS Convention and related Codes;
  • Statutory Certificates applicable to vessels covered by the MARPOL 73/78 Convention under Annex I, II, III, IV, V and VI;
  • International Load Line Certificate; 
  • International Tonnage Convention Certificate; 
  • Certificates issued under the International Convention on the Control of Harmful Anti-fouling Systems on Ships; 
  • Statutory Certificates issued to vessels covered by Statutory Instrument 147 of 1991 for vessels under 500GT in service outside territorial waters of Belize; 
  • Statutory Certificates issued to vessels covered by Statutory Instrument 119 of 1997 for vessels in the Caribbean Trading Area; 
  • Statutory Certificates issued to vessels covered by Statutory Instruments 113 of 1995 for fishing vessels of 24 m and above; 
  • Statutory Certificates issued to vessels covered by Statutory Instrument 148 of 1991 for pleasure vessels; 
  • Statutory Certificates applicable to vessels covered by the Ballast Water Management Convention; and 
  • Statutory Certificates applicable to vessels covered by the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006.
